Rose Colored Glasses

LC Lauren Conrad Oversized Aviator Sunglasses

So I was desperate for sunglasses since my 2 pairs were unwearable.  One was crooked and the other pair broke.  That's what I get for buying cheap sunglasses - I know - I just can't help it.  It's so hard to spend money on sunglasses that I seem to abuse with all the wear and tear they get in my purse, on my head or in my car and now with a 2 year old it's worse than before.  So I found these Lauren Conrad glasses at Kohl's as my next cheap pair until I find the perfect ones (they are out there somewhere but I haven't found them yet).

All this to say, I was walking with Grayson last night and had my new glasses on.  The sky was beautiful and so was the weather.  It was one of those peaceful evenings and towards the end of the walk I was pointing out the clouds against the sun to show Grayson so he could see how beautiful and pink they were.  I kept staring at them and then wanted to see them without my glasses to take a look at this gorgeous pink but as soon as I took my glasses off they were just regular white.  Nothing spectacular or breathtaking like I saw behind my glasses.  Then it hit me...when I fix my eyes on Jesus everyday by spending time in his Word and walking with Him it's like wearing His perspective and seeing life through His eyes.

His perspective is just like those pink clouds in the sunset I saw.  My everyday life can sometimes seem boring and uneventful or sometimes it's hard and extremely challenging but if I'm wearing his sunglasses even the difficult days can seem beautiful and the boring days joyful and exciting.
When I put my eyes on the one who knows my past as well as my future and rest in His care I can enjoy the view no matter what it is because He has made everything beautiful for its own time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

"That's why we can be sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good."

The Message

"To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair.  In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has plated for his own glory."
Isaiah 61:3
